The new DirectX 11 from Microsoft will come with great improvement from the previous DirectX, supported by Multi Core Machine. This new DirectX offers great improvement on shading, and have the ability to use GPU for your VGA to do heavy process. It means you will have parallel processor from your GPU.
Microsoft has announced that DirectX 11 will be releasing later this year, will be available sometime in 2009-2010 when the next version of Windows ships. DirectX 11 will be completely compatible with DX10 hardware, so there will be no need to run out and upgrade your video cards.
This is the first time DirectX use this technology and they will continue developing it. So in the future, you wouldn’t need to buy High-Spec Computer to run heavy process and playing heavy games like Diablo III, Doom 3, World of Warcraft, etc, because of this nice DirectX.
